Q: Do you have final rankings for the various school cheerleaders?
Is this order correct?
1.Oregon
2.Arizona State
3.Cal
4.Washington
5. Notre Dame

Or did you have a different order?

A: I’ll let the voters decide today on the Pac-10. I know you asked this question before Monday but UCLA’s way up there too.

Q: Since Nick Holt previously left USC to become a head coach at Idaho (and didn’t have much success), he’ll most likely remain DC at USC for several more years since his name doesn’t come up for other coaching opportunities. In your opinion, how much longer with Ken Norton remain on the USC sidelines?

A: If DeWayne Walker leaves UCLA, I expect Norton to be offered the defensive coordinator’s job at USC. This will be the golden opportunity for him to return to his alma mater and prove his coaching ability to run a defense. He didn’t even listen to New Mexico State when they called about the head-coaching position so it’s probably only UCLA and maybe the NFL that might interest him. Frankly, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Q: After the game, Taylor Mays said, “I’ll be back if Coach Carroll wants me to be. If he asks me back, I’ll be back.”
Truth? Or swept up in the emotion of the moment? What are your sources telling you?

A: It’s never that simple. But Taylor Mays’ father, Stafford, was an NFL player so I don’t think Pete Carroll will be able to simply say, “come back” if Mays is guaranteed to be a top 10-15 draft pick.
