Several readers emailed me today that in Honolulu, Robert Kekaula, the sportscaster from the ABC affiliate (KITV) weighed in on the Manti Te’o-Robby Toma controversy with some interesting comments. I don’t live in Hawaii, obviously, so I spoke to Kekaula just now.
“I said the story is Manti Te’o called UCLA to tell them he wasn’t coming and that Roby got a phone call and they ripped into him for not getting Manti to come. It seemed obvious that was what happened after he decided he wasn’t going to go to UCLA.
“It reeks of a 2 for 1 deal. I was told Roby tore up his UCLA paperwork at the signing ceremony.”
