I’m always impressed with football players who run track (unlike Pete Carroll). Tailback D.J. Morgan of Taft High in Woodland Hills, who committed to USC already, ran a wind-legal, state-leading 14.46 to set a meet record in the 110 hurdles at Percy Knox Invitational last weekend.

Oregon State plays UTEP tonight in the College Basketball Invitational’s best of three championship series. By the way, nine different Pac-10 teams have competed in the NCAA Tournament over the past two seasons.
Quick Thought
Since spring practice is a time for experiments, how about putting Taylor Mays at linebacker to see how it goes? Mays wants to make more plays in the box and is as big as any linebacker. And with Drew McAllister and Josh Pinkard avaliable at safety, you could give the linebacker corps a boost and still have quality at safety.
