USC assistant coach Todd McNair said Curtis McNeal’s spring performance surprised him.
“Curtis has handled it as good if not better than most freshmen at this point,” McNair said.
McNair said McNeal’s size (5-foot-6) is not inhibiting his pass protection.
“I don’t know if his being small causes us to do anything different but he can play and pass protect,” McNair said.
