A couple Mark Sanchez questions in this segment.

Do you think the SC fanbase will ever acknowledge that PC’s behavior at the Mark Sanchez press conference was an embarrassment? Especially now that the GM’s of NFL teams have totally rebuked PC’s claim that Mark is not ready for pro football?

A: I think a lot of fans understand that the press conference was a public-relations disaster, or at least quite a few I’ve spoken to. But I agree there is a sizeable amount that will never believe it was a problem. The bottom line is Sanchez made an incredibly wise decision for a 22 year old and the things Carroll said at the press conference were wrong.

Did former USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow recruit Mark Sanchez to Stanford, when he mistakenly thought the Cardinal job was his?

A: Sanchez had already committed to USC in April and Chow interviewed with Stanford in December. Sanchez had already decided to go to USC and was not going to change his mind and Chow did not recruit him, though if he actually got the job it would have been a different story. The Matt Barkley situation was similar when Steve Sarkisian got hired at Washington. But Barkley, like Sanchez, was not going to go anywhere else.
