An athletic dept. official told boosters this week that the baseball team turned the corner and was on its way toward an NCAA Tournament bid. That was before the Trojans lost two of three to Washington State at Dedeaux Field as the Cougars won their first-ever three game series at USC. The Trojans are 21-19 overall and have a big week with back-to-back games at UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday and Wednesday.
