How about an encore performance of “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Girls Aloud in honor of Tim Floyd and the 2009 Trojan basketball roster?

Lane Kiffin believes that his recruiting violations and controversies are good because it draws national attention to his Tennessee program. Under this theory, does this mean that USC Basketball is about to get a huge boost?

A: Under this theory, USC will be in the Final Four next season.

The saying goes “All publicity is good publicity.”

So that means the USC basketball program is now on top of the world, right?

A: Yeah, the ticket phone line is just buzzing at Galen Center these days.

If USC hires a head coach how will they fill the missing spots on their roster, will they bring in walk ons, junior college players, or transfers?

A: It’s up to whoever becomes the new coach, but these days JC players are not considered a reliable option like they were 10-15 years ago. Even Tim Floyd realized this had changed when he returned to college coaching and tried to cut down on JC players because the talent level fell. Walk-ons are tough because of USC’s tuition.
A new coach will probably have to tough it out for a season than recruit for the following year.
