A question in here on the Rising Stars camp.

Can you please say in depth what recruits worked there tail off in rising stars camp?

A: I thought Dillon Baxter and Jalen Grimble worked hard among the committed players. Among the non-commits, Colony wide receiver Kenneth Scott worked very hard but I don’t know if he get an offer. But he was always hustling and seemed like a good kid. Defensive lineman George Uko was so good, he was impossible to not notice. Cornerback Justin Maclin, an LSU commit, also hustled and impressed. And he hasn’t been discussed a lot but tailback Dontae Williams from Texas had a good work ethic and nice burst. He does not have an offer yet, however. I was also impressed with Tulsa reciever DeMarco Cobbs.

Which offensive and defensive players improved the most from the start of the 2008 season through 2009 spring practice?

A: I think Malcolm Smith and Armond Armstead on the defense. They each became entrenched starters by the end of spring. Offensively, maybe offensive tackle Tyron Smith and tailback Marc Tyler, who was nearly invisible last fall but now looks like he could play next season.

Do you feel the recently released NCAA Football 10 video game’s player ratings for USC are accurate?

A: I haven’t played it yet. You tell me your beef and then I’ll comment.
