Scott. let me get your review of The Lab Gastropub across from campus.

A: First off, my friends are unhappy that the place does not sell liquor. Otherwise, it’s not bad but I feel like I need to eat there one more time before I give a detailed review. But it’s better than nothing, which I guess is the alternative.

Mr. Wolf, thank you for the blog and for the great insight. A few weeks ago I inquired about Coach Seto’s chances of getting a decent Div 1 head coaching position after a few successful years as a DC and your response was that he would probably get a position similar to Coach Walker in NM. My question, is do you think Coach Seto’s candidacy for a head-coaching position would be more scrutinized b/c of his ethnic background (at the moment I think their is only one Asian Head Coach) and b/c the two previous PC assistants (Kiff and Sark) received very good head coaching positions? Thank you in advance.

A: I definitely think his ethnicity will work against him and I say that with sadness because of the woeful record of minority hires in college football. It’s extremely unfortunate but it’s also a fact, so I cannot deny that there are stereotypes and that athletic directors do show a tendency to not hire coaches of color.
