A: I’d hate to label him as the next Rocky Hinds before he even gets to college. At the same time, I don’t see him playing ahead of Matt Barkley, so I guess he’s content to wait a minimum of two years before there is a competition for the next starting quarterback.

A: Wetherell does have eligibility remaining and USC will have a scholarship for this year so he could be a candidate to earn it on a one-year basis until Kevin O’Neill brings in more players. Wetherell will need to beat out Donte Smith and Mike Gerrity (eligible after nine games) to start.
