USC freshman tight end James Boyd said he would play basketball this season. Coach Kevin O’Neill said Tuesday he had not spoken to Boyd in a couple months and was unsure of his plans.
Boyd is about two weeks away from returning to football practice after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last month.
