On today’s rematch between Matt Leinart and Vince Young, Pete Carroll said: “That was perfectly staged and Vince came through. What a great finish. He’s an extraordinary athlete and showed it again. Matt played well too.”

“I’m sure people on the other side will find a reason to be upset or whatever . . . Part of things as fans is people get to cheer for you and boo at you. They’re entitled to their opinion and can do whatever they want.”

Pete Carroll on Matt Barkley’s interception against UCLA.
“The interception, I’m sure I’ll talk to (wide receivers coach) John Morton and talk about (Damian Williams’) route. He didn’t run it full speed. The ball went right past his head.”
