Is it true that for ten straight days following the Emerald Bowl, Aaron Corp’s father, Chris Corp, tried to get a scholarship release from USC for his son so that Aaron could transfer to another university, but that none of his calls were ever returned by any of the football coaches? So he he then had to go the university administration in order to obtain a formal release from his scholarship so that Aaron could enroll at the University of Richmond on the last possible day before classes began?

A: I’m not sure but the transfer took place over Christmas break, so it would be difficult to get anything out of the compliance office, just like it was difficult to get much from them the week Joe McKnight was ineligible before the Emerald Bowl.

I am concerned about Matt Barkley’s mental state. Has Lane Kiffin started to talk about and compliment Barkley as much as Pete Carroll or is Matt feeling like he has been orphaned?

A: Perhaps we can start a Facebook group where readers can send encouragement if this is the case.

James Boyd was a defensive end and quarterback in high school, was recruited as a defensive end by USC, quarterback by Washington, and moved to tight end last year. What position will James Boyd play with a new coaching staff?

A: It’s too early to know. Lane Kiffin is spending most of his time recruiting and hiring coaches. I don’t think this will be addressed until after signing date.
