On Tebow

ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay said Tim Tebow hurt himself this week at the Senior Bowl.

“I hate to say it because he’s battled and done everything that’s been asked of him. … He’s gone through every drill, he’s shown improvement with getting snaps under center and he’s working at it, but he’s just not there.
“I thought coming in (to Senior Bowl) that maybe all the intangibles and all the little things he did and showing signs of improvement could help his stock. I would say unfortunately that it hurt his stock because just looking at him and comparing him to other mid-level quarterbacks – it’s not Bradford and Clausen here – it’s Tony Pike who’s the best of the group and he’s probably going to be a third-round pick.
“I think you can make an argument that Tebow as a passer, just evaluating his potential as a passer and pocket passer in the NFL, he was no better than the fourth best here. And I really think he has such a long way to go and he has to accept one of two things. He either A) he needs to strip down and completely start over as a quarterback and a passer and that’s going to take a lot of hard work or may not work, or B) he’s going to need to play another position in the NFL.”
