As promised, the forum questions were put to bed today.

Hi Scott, do you think that a part of Pete Carroll hopes that Lane Kiffin gets off to a slow start in his first couple years in charge of SC’s football program?

A: He will say he wants USC to succeed and I believe him because he is a naturally upbeat person. But if USC does not succeed, I think he will feel a sense of pride in the fact that people took for granted some of the success he enjoyed as the head coach. Or at least feel a moment of amusement.

Was there any truth to what Weis had insinuated late last year about Carroll his personal life? If there was some truth to it, why didn’t the media jump all over it?

A: The mistress in Malibu story was something that was on Internet message boards a couple years ago and I think that is where Weis heard it. Or someone told him they read it. So then he repeated it. I’m sure TMZ would be all over it if the story were true. Pete Carroll vigousously denied the story when Weis made his comments.

can you confirm rumor that you are doing a new book (tentatively) entitled: “The Baby QB and Me” ??

A: That was supposed to be a secret. I guess nothing can be kept under wraps in the Internet era. I hope to fly to Delaware soon to meet the Baby Quarterback in person.
