Golden Rule

Pete Carroll poured a little salt in the wound by drafting wide receiver Golden Tate of Notre Dame (What’s next, a Bruin?). Tate’s TD catch against USC probably opened his eyes to Tate.
By the way, that means Carroll drafted Golden Tate but refused to hire Golden (Pat) Ruel. Taylor Mays and Ruel could probably have a good discussion right now.

  1. Let me break it down: If Carroll were loyal to USC, he’d still be coaching there!

    Get over it.

Pete is gone, the era of dominance is over.

He’s coaching pro football now. He’s not going to bring on USC guys as a courtesy. And frankly, SC guys shouldn’t expect Carroll to draft them just because they played for him.

  2. good points Blue. agree it is odd that mays makes it sound like they had some tacit agreement wherein cheatey would draft him.

i always had (begrudging) respect for PC until last year. sure he was anoying with his teenager-speak, but his public service work, his competitive philosophy, the fact his teams rose to the occasion….but starting with Sanchez press conference and escalating with his weird doting on Barks last year, PC suddenly seemed like a classless and even foolish man.

and now Southern Cal has completey turned on him. wow.
