Mays Might Disagree
Running back Leon Washington, who was traded from the Jets to the Seahawks, talked to radio station KJR about Pete Carroll:
“The great thing about Coach Carroll is that he’s a player’s coach. So many players across the league and so many players that come out of high school want to go play for Pete Carroll because he’s a coach that players can actually believe in and trust.
“I sat down in his office today and talked to him today because I just flew in this morning and everything seems to be great.”
Taylor Mays might beg to differ.

Late Games
Here’s this week’s Saturday’s spring football games:
Pac-10: Oregon, (ESPN2, 2 p.m. PST); Oregon State; USC
Sun Belt: Florida International
WAC: New Mexico State
Blind Item Of The Day
We hear new UTEP coach Tim Floyd tried to hire a former USC player as an assistant coach, who politely declined.
Lewis Update
Offensive lineman Butch Lewis said he might miss this week of practice. When he runs, his sore groin still bothers him.
