How are the new assistant coaches besides Ed Orgeron and Monte Kiffin doing? These assistant coaches are new to USC and I was wondering how they are adjusting and there interaction with the players?

A: Ed Orgeron was at USC before so his transition was easy. Monte Kiffin had the luxury of visiting USC before because he was close to Pete Carroll and often spoke on the phone to Carroll late at night during the season.
So there really isn’t much problem adjusting. They just needed to get to know the personnel. Kiffin is still evaluating several spots, that’s why middle linebacker, cornerback and safety still have open positions.

Do you think Michael Morgan will play safety, rather than linebacker, in the pros if he does play in the pros?

A: No. He’s never played safety and I don’t think he has the speed to be an NFL safety. He could play linebacker if he gets bigger, however.

Are the incoming recruits required to attend the summer workouts and if not do you know which recruits will actually attend?

A: The incoming recruits are usually required to enroll for summer school in late June and start workouts around that time. Some local recruits can show up for earlier workouts if they desire.
