  1. You want to take away scholarships from USC. Kids dream of playing for storied programs like SC and now you want to take that away? Ok, for cheating, sure I get it. But youre not taking away scholarships from just USCyoure taking them away from college football as a whole. Some kids leave USC to go elsewhere, the kids that wouldve gone THERE lose a spot on the team as well, and so on and so on. It hurts these kids trying to play at the schools of their dreams and get educations while theyre at it.

I get itUSC may not have followed rulesso punish them. Take away wins. Take away the Heisman. Take away the BCS national championship. But taking away these kids chances of competing with teams around the country, because of what happened while they were in middle and high school? Thats absurd!

That makes no sense! Especially coming from these UCLA fans looking to get their happiness from seeing USC’s football team get hurt just because they have nothing to root for in their own team.

Youre a moron if you think these type of penalties arent enough. Theyre beyond that.

But hey, if that’s what it takes, enjoy it for the next few months. USC will enjoy embarrassing the bruins ON THE FIELD, as always.

  2. Twitter is just rich this morning…

AaronRodgers12 — Looking forward to getting my PAC-10 championship ring from the ’04 season. Thanks @claymatthews52

  3. lbc Trojan…RIGHT ON baby!
The NCAA has always had it wrong…punish the school not the athletes but they can’t figure that out. We will see what the last years of the NCAA puts down on SC because I think in the next 10 years the NCAA will go way and athletes will be paid in college. It’s inevitable, I think.
And…SC gets 1/10th of all bowl proceeds as a member of the PAC-10 so they will still get money from bowl games.

  4. I absolutely HATE the trogans and I feel the university should be punished for it’s misdeeds but… how is this fair to the kids that are current players and who had nothing to do with this? (not saying other shenanigans werent going on since this but nothing has come out).

I truly feel that the Bruins would have gone back to owning the trogans on the field if not this year then the next for sure, and now there will be an excuse when it happens.

A 2 year bowl ban and scholarship reductions will not really hurt the trogans (in my opinion) because the players who TRULY wanted to go to $c because it was their “dream school” will still go regardless. It’s not like they received a TV ban so the trogan players will still be in the spotlight and will still be able to show their skills on the National stage.

It will be interesting to see which verbal commits stick with $c.

Sad that the true miscreants behind this whole problem are long gone and are living fat on the big money in the pros (unless Garrett knew something).

I am sorry for the trogan players who did nothing wrong (except Barkley, I can’t stand to look at that guy) and for the trogan fans who truly believe in their team (not the bandwagon jumpers).

    GO BRUINS!…UCLA FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

  5. sdbob…right on baby, back at you…I think?
Didn’t realize glue sniffing was the drug of choice at S(outh) C(entral). Punish the School, not the Athlete? Are you joking? Technically, the athlete committed the violation, and the school (cheatey & The A.D…aka, Dumb & Dumber) decided to use the old Monkey defense, See No Evil, Hear No Evil…
Interesting you find solace in knowing TROGANS get 1/10th of Bowl proceeds…so does Washington State! Sort of reminds me of Ron Harper boasting about his 3 NBA Championship Rings, until someone reminded him…..”just like Dickey Simpkins!”
    FITE ON!

  9. To: All USC haters on an ‘SC blog

Just remember, YOU have won nothing! Football games on WON on the FIELD. Is this what it takes, sanctions against USC, to make you proud of UCLA football? Really? See you clowns in December.

Bwahahaha, this doesn’t make your team any better this year! Live with that.

  10. look, it IS fair to punish the current players – they all signed up knowing of the investigation but understanding, presumably from CPC and later CLK, that “nothing is going to happen.” They chose to roll the dice and came up snake eyes. So it goes.

  11. Allow me to delve into the mind of a comment troll: Even though my house has peeling paint, cracked windows, broken stairs, an overgrown yard and a Chevy Metro on blocks in the front yard, I think it’s hilarious my next door neighbor found rats in his house.

  12. Hey JRobinson,

Hihest SAT scores next to Stanford, that’s why kids come to this highly selective school. Great campus too.

  13. So give it up Wolfie, who’s the “source”? Which wieselly little low level staffer went running to the press? Or was it a senior level source bitter because he hasn’t been able to land an AD job somewhere else. It must have been a cozy little presser in the dark recesses of HH with you and Gary Klein….or maybe it was “The Hair Piece”, the AD’s buddy doin the leakin…give it up Wolfie
