A Reminder

Here’s the way an appeal takes place under NCAA guidelines:

School or individuals submit appeals
Committee responds
Appellants rebut committee response (optional)
Enforcement staff corrects errors in appellant’s rebuttal
Appellants respond to Enforcement staff rebuttals
Infractions appeals hearing
Infractions appeals report finalized
School and individuals notified
Public release

  1. wolf, you forgot the last 3 bullets points:

Missy Conboy falls onto the floor laughing with delight!

the entire nation laughs at Southern Cal again!

Count Smack, Yo-Duh & Charlie Bucket come back to dance once more on the smoking impact crater that is Southern Cal’s athletic program!!!

it will be so sugar sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!

    AUUUUUUUUU-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  2. I have read the 67 page report…it’s very black and white, there are no gray areas. USC’s appeal will laughed at and once again the laughter will continue on this and other blogs. What the heck are Garrett and Kiffin doing? are they serious? is this a tactic to hold on to the current recruiting class, by pretending that the decision will be reversed? These guys are morons, the sooner they let it go the quicker things will be normal again…don’t get me wrong, I love all this because it gives me opportunities to lash out at USC and make fun of them all day long…so a certain part of me says appeal, appeal! and the other side is feeling sorry for the trojans.

  3. Count Cocula and Baby Bruin I love laughing at your continued bias comments for months now. But its time for some reality. Its very Black and White. No grey areas Huh ?. What is black & White ? Well the NCAA report is full of discrepancies. Anyone with half a brain can see the discrepancies no matter what fan or team they represent.
The NCAA cannot connect anyone at USC to the violations accept Reggie Bush and his parents. Any educated mature football fan can see that USC recognizes Reggie violated NCAA rules. But the sanctions do not fit the violations. The USC report ( WHICH WAS GIVEN AND REPORTED TO NCAA ) months before the NCAA report. CLEARLY states the wrong and obvious bias conclusions the NCAA reached. Here is just one example: There using phone conversations as evidence which involved Reggie Bush. Telephone conversations recorded are not admissable in California. Its called wire tapping. But ofcourse were talking about a 8 time felon here. The NCAA choose to mention that as evidence but would not say what the phone calls said . Why ? Because they know its not admisable by law even under NCAA rules. Its hilarious. They hold no legal merit nor are even acceptable under NCAA rules. It also shows there stern approach to believe a 8 time convicted felon over what reality clearly shows. But I don’t expect a Bruin to understand that. Whats knew….

  4. haden: (I was a big Pat Haden/Rams fan by the way) we agree on almost everything! the only dissent is this: Southern Cal errs when they assume the evidence against McNair has to be beyond reasonable doubt. this is not a court of law.

can an educated mature trOJie believe McNair when he says he never met or spoke with New Era Boyz? they attended parties with mutual friends, took photos, and exchanged (a few brief) phone calls. so maybe they met in passing or briefly, but NEVER? just not believable. would a man believe his wife if said she never met a man but he knew thay had mutual friends, he had pictures of her with the man, and calls to his phone??

the NCAA came down hard because like most people, they don’t like to be treated like they are fools.

  5. Haden,
On page 16 3rd paragraph, it shows that Bush had a 1996 Ford Ranger that was registered to his mother – but was too embarrassed to drive it, this vehicle was originally registerd in 2003 with USC as his vehicle.
On page 17 5th paragraph it states that Bush registered his new vehicle (the vehicle in question) with the University in December 2004…if the university failed in recognizing the change and ignored it by not questioning Bush or reporting it to Carroll or the Athletic department before it became an issue , IT IS LACK OF INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL.
Page 25 proves that Todd McNair the USC Asst. coach did know the agents because he placed calls to the “Agent’s” cell phone and even posed for pictures at a party held in San Diego for a Chargers’ player…PUHLEEEEEEASE!!

  6. Oh and on page 37th it states that Percy Harvin was also handed a briefcase of some sort by Todd Guillorory. How much more clearer can you get at than that? Man trogan fans are so ignorant and waste their time just posting here about nothing.

  7. CountChocula : been a USC and Haden guy since birth.
UCLA ROB on all three paragraphs you refer too They were countered by USC WITH FACTS in there report. As well as in the further report of the appeal just filed.
Secondly what the NCAA said is false. LAKE called MCNAIR not the other way around. And the picture used as evidence has already been proven to been altered. HAve you ever heard of photoshop ? Guys you need to read the USC rebuttal with TRUSTWORTHY witnesses.
Why you would believe ANYTHING a 8 time convicted felon who in the deposition he plainly states.. “I don’t know on many things.” You guys need to READ EVERYTHING in print not just the ridiculous bias NCAA report. THE USC report rips it to pieces. Your also only taking the NCAA reports view in the registrations. Go to the DMV and find out for yourself. The cars WERE NOT registerd to USC.
I could go on and on and on. USC realizes Reggie Bush did wrong things. But they also know MCNair is completely innocent and the NCAA overreacted.
Lack of institional control again is NOT THE ISSUE.. It is the severity of sanctions based UPON THE FACTS.
