  • Bakersfield has alway been a football hotbed. Remember Frank Gifford, Jim Maples, Ken Ruettgers, John Rosatto, Larry Parker, Ted Roberson, Jason Oliver, Ernie Pye, to name a few.

    Nice historical work by sobayquail.

But, excuse the expression, shouldn’t Bakersfield be a
natural “hotbed,” especially in the summer?

As a Bakersfield native this makes me proud.

And more recently (although not Trojans) – Joey Porter, David Carr, and Brock Marion.

    Ryan Mathews too.

way to use one of those 15 scholarships. Had Lame not been such a dope, he’d have had a kid from fresno on the team this year, which would have freed up another scholy necessary to replace Henderson, who’d rather be in prep school than at SC. Sanction On!
