Lane Kiffin said USC currently has 71 players on scholarship instead of the normal 85.
This scholarship total is probably on purpose in saving a few each year so during whatever scholarship sanctions are ultimately dealt to the program, it will help compensate the losses suffered in the free rides during the next 3-years.
Its all about position numbers depthwise that really needs to be watched closely due to the scholarship losses. A better percentage of talent that comes in needs to improve “on a timely-consistent basis” and injuries need to be small (luck) for the team to effectively overcome this setback.
