Robey The Workhorse

Lane Kiffin said Nickell Robey participated in 95 plays between defense and special teams against Hawaii.
“We played Nickell too much,” Kiffin said. “As warm as it was at the start of the game . . . we wore him down. We need to monitor his reps better.”

  1. The fact there were that many plays at all is the most disturbing part of this item.

  2. 8 Kickoffs
    8 Kickoff Returns
78 Offensive plays for Hawai’i….they ran 70 in 2005 vs Trojans.

Seeing how Hawai’i averages a little more than 70 plays per game anyway shows what exactly?

The disturbing part was the missed opportunities by the defense. At no time during the game did I think Hawai’i had a chance to win. I did wonder why our LB’s were continually out of position in pass coverage. They will get better and facing one of the most prolific passing attacks in the nation early is good for the young football players. Virginia runs a balanced offense and it will be interesting to see if the Trojans can stop the run and make the Cavaliers one dimensional.

    Fight On!

  3. someone should start a tea-party mob for ucla’s egregious waste of taxpayer money for wasting norm chow’s talents while deperately trying to implement some pistol offense hurriedly learned from the university of nevada.

seriously and objectively, that is embarassing, not only to you trolls, but to all of us californians

  4. Jeff Sagarin is an American sports statistician well-known for his development of a methodology for ranking and rating sports teams in a variety of sports. His ratings have been a regular feature in the USA Today sports section since 1985, have been used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee to help determine the participants in the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship tournament since 1984, and have been a part of the Bowl Championship Series since its inception in 1998.

—-usc is currently number 4 in sagarin’s rankings. maybe #2 after tomorrow…

  5. Does he get paid overtime by the boosters and agents for that? Or do his parents just get a nice built-in added to their new home?

    Cheat On!

  6. The UCLADynasty moniker is laughable. Ergo, the posts are always suspect. Dynasty in what, badminton??

  7. I love how these USC losers are trying to focus on the UCLA loss to make themselves feel better after a pathetic performance against a division-3 team that was a 75 point underdog and, really USC should have lost by 19 points…USC gave up 600 yards to Hawaii, while UCLA gave up 360 to a superior team featuring the best RB in the nation…sorry USuCkasses, it ain’t gonna work…your pathetic trojans will be 3-6 in the Pac-10

@scscin30, USC is ranked #39 in the Barragatto’s poll.
    (_*_) taste it!!

  8. Embarrassing is misspelling embarassing…
    so is…
Having your football program SANCTIONED by The NCAA..
    and
Having your Basketball program Sanctioned by the NCAA…
    and
Having your CHEATING F-Ball/B-Ball COACH run out of town..
    and
having to return a Heisman trophy…
    and
being ordered to disassociate from former football stars.
    and
having a pompous embarrassing A.D. in M. Garrett..
    and (drum Roll ..Please…)
    #1 embarrassment is..
THE GAY BRONZE HORSE! (Saturday’s performance against Hawaii was tied for #2 with O.J.)
Letterman’s much better at this stuff than me..but I couldn’t resist.
BTW…#4 in Sagarin’s rankings today…by the end of the season Southern Cal won’t be seen in the TOP 25.
    Cheat on!, Fit On!
This could REALLY BE YOUR YEAR!

  9. The funny things, Thaibeaner, we could care less what you think. But I’m glad both you and BruinB00b post so often. It just proves the lack of brain power that follows Fucla (we know neither of you went there…..or anywhere else for that matter-please don’t try to cound your GED)

  10. CheapWatch…What AD hired a FB coach that was “run out of town”, by two major colleges? Eleven and fifteen for RN and his “dream team” coaching staff.

  11. bRUIN clowns call hawaii a D-3 school! Thats hilarious seeing as how they’ve accomplished more the last five years than fucla has the last ten!
Remember your standing on the doorsteps of a 0-4 start this year!
    But keep fightin on bRUINS!!!!

  12. Brett Hundley, the #6 rated QB in the nation officially committed to UCLA. Hundley is the missing puzzle for the future, right now UCLA has athletes at all the skill positions, and Hundley will only help in recruiting the nucleus for a successful program for years to come…lick it! (_*_) how does my ass taste!?

  13. bRuinB00b, how do explain that Fucla has not won any national championship in football since 1954? What do you mean missing part? Jeez, your whole football program is a missing part. lick it (_*_)

  14. KNOBS, the reason for UCLA not winning any titles since 1954 is because UCLA has not cheated in order to gain an unfair advantage. If not for all the cheating going on at USC and all ignored infractions by the NCAA throughout the Carroll years, USC would be nothing more than a second tier program today. FACT!!
    :p (_!_) good?

  15. Not true bRuinB00b, I personally know players that WERE paid, just like SC players in the 70s & 80s. Your comments are just to get a reaction. What a loser. Back to Chino amigo.

    :p (_!_) good?

  16. @BruinRob:
Hawaii is a Division 3 team now?
K-State has the #1 Running Back in the nation? Funny, I couldn’t tell you his name! I can tell you who Mark Ingram is though! (F*cking moron)
USC fans making excuses for their WIN? Lol… Keep enjoying that LOSS, buddy!
    LMAO
    Fight on!

  17. We should see improvement on D week-to-week. Could be formidable by mid-season. Until then, O will need to deliver.

  18. Knobs…
Don’t short Change yourself…YOU’RE PLENTY DUMB.
    Post less, say more.
This Could really Be Your Year!
    Fit on Trogan

  19. Replace “Brett Hundley” with “Richard Brehaut” in Rob’s comment above and you get what he was saying 2 years ago. Still waiting for all those pieces to fall together, I guess…

  20. CPEM, Brehaut should be the starting QB…last year I agree that Brehaut wasn’t ready, this year he is…I don’t know why RN does not overule NC and start Richard.
