Century Club

I mentioned earlier this week that if Pete Carroll stayed at USC, he could have won his 100th game last weekend. It would have taken him 119 games to do it. Florida coach Urban Meyer will try to win his 100th game this weekend, his 118th college game.
Here’s the list of the top 10 coaches quickest reach 100 victories:

  1. Actually, Lane would probably go for two all the way along, so he could actually do it in just over 50 games.

  2. you want awesome? how about having a movie made about you called “Knute Rockne: All American”?

and there Knute is on that list up there, with a record neither carroll nor urban meyer can match.

i predict a sequel: “Brian Kelly: Feel the Power!”

  3. “Brian Kelly: Feel the Power!”

Is that because he gives rather than receives?

He is a pillow fluffer, right?

  4. Brian Kelly may be the fastest coach to 100 pots of gold. He looks like an angry leprechaun… So silly out there on the side lines. Can we put some cute red side burns on him?

  5. What a bunch of morons. PC would have been on a list of legendary coaches and all you dumb-asses can do it take weak shots. Losers!

  6. If Carroll’s program had not been found to have violated NCAA rules, he would have been remembered as SC’s greatest coach. As such, Jones & McKay should still share that honor.

If Carroll had stayed at SC through 2014, weathered the NCAA storm, & returned SC to the elite status he helped to restore in 02, he could have ensured a legacy as SC’s greatest coach. In fact, he probably would have been remembered as one of, if not the, greatst college coach of all time.

I hope he gets a Super Bowl. If not, bad move.
