Answer Tuesday! (Part 2)

In this segment, a question on my grade for Matt Barkley’s performance.

Why only a B+ for Barkley and the receivers? He threw to Butler, Johnson, Woods, Havili, Carswell, Cameron etc. Barkley distributed the ball to all receivers with nearly 400 yards (390 to be exact) and 3 TDs with 0 INTs. Woods had 220-something yards.
The defense clearly lost the game. What does the passing game have to do to earn an A by your silly standards? Thanks

A: Well, by my silly standards you can’t throw 17 incompletions, including two critical ones on third-and-10 and fourth-and-10 on what might have been the critical drive of the game if Chris Galippo did not force a fumble. That in no way means I am criticizing Matt Barkley. I think he played his best game of the season. But on my grading scale, an A is a tough grade to get. Though I might have given Andrew Luck an A- (20 of 24 completions).

Scott,

Has Kiffin provided any clarification as to why he called a run play right before the end of the half and thus letting valuable time run off the clock? Was he trying to catch Stanford off guard?

A: That’s a great question. We haven’t asked because there was a lot of time spent on the end of the game and are access to Kiffin is limited on Sunday and Monday, unfortunately.

Is the Fat Booster now officially a Washington booster? If that is indeed the case, does that mean he now spends much/all of his time up in Seattle? Since Seattle has a lot of seafood, will he soon be the Skinny Booster?

A: I doubt he will ever be the Skinny Booster but he might be the Seattle booster the way he is sucking up to Steve Sarkisian. He used to be a secondary Oregon booster too because of former USC assistant Steve Greatwood but now seems to have his sail tied to Washington.
