USC reports that 37,500 showed up today to hear President Obama speak. If 7,500 stay for the women’s soccer game, then USC can set its attendance record.

37,500 to hear a moron read off a teleprompter? PT Barnum was right.
Question: Indonsian raised, Marxist schooled, anti-American President, why do I bother to listen to you or any of your “Redistribution of American Wealth” propagandists when there will be no jobs for me when I graduate; the direct result of your policies? My University of Southern California diploma will means so much more than that Harvard rag you pulled off the shelf.

This clown seriously still attracts that many people? Haven’t they realized “hope” was a failed strategy?
what a shocker!!! now i know why they call the school “Southern” Cal!! the same grouchy, old, panicky bible-thumping Tea Baggers they have in the deeeeeep South!!! that Obama is so un-American!!! he believes in science and all that demonic stuff!!! say, did the first trOJies ride their dinosaurs onto Noah’s Ark??
it is so much nicer hangin’ with the intellectual Cadre, than the “Dumb-Old-boys” of SOUTHERN Cal!!!!!
The Donkey knows that higher SAT scores and academic records led to an enlightened and intelligent student body that doesn’t bear any resemblance to the young republicans sheep that graced the fields of campus.
The Donkey suspects all this tea party soundbite spewing vitriol laden posters don’t have a college education from his alma mater or any other institution of higher learning. The Donkey further suggest that Ms Charlie’s diatribe sounds just like the other three imbeciles who posted before him.
Bucket-of-Sh** is a paid hack who posts on this blog to rile the rabble. The cadre is one voice.
That’s an educated Donkey.
Haha, another reason to love sc: the bigots.
SLoooooow: how dare you….a paid hack??? i am NOT paid!!!
and the Cadre is legion!!!
Never send a community organizer to do a man’s job!!

Nothing of relevance, meaning or substance in your commentary. Nothing there, pal ! Nothing that supports your unfounded accusations. And there is No Substance in any of the political ads of your Senators, Rsps, or President either. Like you, a tub full of denial, evading all issues, and smear.

I thought UCLA prided itself on women’s sports? Fight on USC women’s soccer!
The only bigger loser than UCLA football is Obama
“There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.”
Linus Van Pelt, 1966
In front of a record-setting crowd at the Los Angeles Coliseum, the USC women’s soccer team served up a long-awaited Pac-10 win over crosstown rival UCLA on Friday night. The Trojans and Bruins hauled 8,527 fans to the Coliseum to set a new NCAA regular-season attendance record, and the Women of …
The Donkey laughs at your feeble attempt of retort. The Donkey also says that considering your canned response he doubts you have earned the degrees you list. The Donkey was bored reading your post, a waste of space and effort.
I’m with the Donkey on this one, although there’s a big part of me that also concurs with uscmike.
Politics and religion don’t have a place in any sports discussion.
Bucket-of-SH** — My apologies…unpaid hack. You and Barry O have a lot in common.
The Donkey ought to understand that “hope” has failed. The Donkey ought to know that this President has expanded two failed wars that have resulted in further unnecessary bloodshed. The Donkey ought to know that this president has done nothing to address rising health care costs (even if you think the health care bill was good, it doesn’t address cost), failed GSEs, $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities, and poor border security. The Donkey ought to know that stimulus failed, borrowing and government spending is out of control and fiscal policy is a joke.
Most importantly, Donkey ought to know better than to ridicule people for their political opinions. It doesn’t make them wrong or evil–some of us are political atheists who call it like it is. Seriously, can the Donkey point to one thing that the President has promised and successfully delivered? There’s a reason his public ratings have plummetted since he took office.
I hate these political rantings but your response is disappointing given that us Trojans are independent-minded folk. You sound like a state-dependent Cal alum.
Being apolitical myself, I am with uscmike on this one– don’t discuss religion (people can get upset with you) or politics (folks can hate you for your views), and I would add sports to that list (should be silly disagreements, really, for afterall it is the ‘toy department’)
That said, a case could be made against all of this country’s past and present presidents including the acclaimed great ones such as Abe, TR, Wilson, FDR, and perhaps Double-A-Bomb Truman. And do we really think this country’s 50+ trillion dollar debt (when inclding all the entitlement programs) is a sole result of Repubs or Demos?– That is naive.
And I know the only person who will read this early morning post will be the Ugly Bucket, because he always checks in to see who has been writing about him. But as I always say, ol’ Ugly just cannot help himself getting in an SC dig every chance he gets. What a bore. What a loser.
There comes a time when “Politics” moves up to the front burner. This is one of those times. It’s kind of now of never, isn’t it? Thanks SW for openning the door!
And yes, great work by our Univesity of Southern California women’s soccer team!! The next Bar….the NCAA National Championship. Hoorah!!
Fight On!
LJ, thanks but no thanks. Being apolitical is a lot like being asexual. I believe in fighting for my convictions in both politics and sports. I am not a Gramsci fan.
LJ, how you as a lawyer remain apolitical in this town is beyond my comprehension. If you get two lawyers who are Dems together, they start talking about how so-and-so lawyer is a Rep as if so-and-so is out buggering cats every night, and if you get two lawyers who are Reps together, they start talking about how so-and-so lawyer is a Dem and farts rainbows in the elevator.
Fight On!
My wife always thought it was funny I went to a school with so many conservative meatheads. These retarded comments remind me why.
schammer47: do yourself a favor and avoid going all in with vapid rhetoric until your’re old enough that your neurological development is complete. You obviously are unwilling or incapable of thinking for yourself at this point in your young life. Your “diploma will means so much more”? Ridiculous. Have some humility and accept that Harvard is a better school than USC. You are a case in point.
devildoc: so men who do community organizing aren’t real men? Are you a real man? What do you do that makes you such a stud?
TrojanPete: Obama has absolutely nothing to do with the problems that brought down the GSEs. If you had the slightest idea how they worked or why they failed you would understand that. He is of course responsible for figuring out how to resolve their status going forward, but you apparently are incapable of understanding the difference between being the source of a problem and being the fixer.
The stimulus did not fail. You might look up what the CBO says about it so far. I could go on in detail but you obviously don’t know much about how the stimulus package was designed. There’s no point arguing with somebody about something when you have to teach them about the subject they formed an opinion on in advance.
It’s clear the current deficits are large, but who else would you geniuses propose should lever up to offset the spiraling effects of consumers levering down?
Lawyer John,
I agree on politics not being discussed here but as Hammer pointed out, Wolf started it (I know, sounds childish).
Gatsby,
I have firm beliefs as well but I don’t marry myself to one party or the other or any politician. One of the reasons why I went to SC was because people were largely apolitical. I didn’t want to go to a university like Cal, where people protest without understanding what they were protesting or why. At SC, your views are respected and hard work and liberty valued. We love our alma mater and we love our sports and we have respect for each other and carry ourselves with class. How many of us troll on UCLA’s site compared to the number of their trolls on this one?
Fight on!
I considered skipping over the comments to this post because I pretty much knew the embarrassing stuff I would find. Such comments make us look like an SEC school.
Fortunately, USC is a large and diverse institution, and thus you could say that there are “many USC’s”. Some of the comments on here represent the “old USC”. There were still many kids like that on campus in the 90’s when I was there (having moved to L.A. from Indiana to attend USC, I was shocked to find that the California suburbs produce kids much more right-wing than the Texans and Hoosiers I’d grown up with). I’m sure there are still many kids like that at USC today. They will always be there. But USC is bigger than that.
The Don Key is right. The drive to improve USC’s academic standing, which accelerated under Sample and which should continue under Nikias, has changed and will continue to change USC culture — for the better.
Cafe 84 Pizza
The commentary we need to pay closest attention to in this Crowd Control “Obama” Blog, was presented by TrojanPete. The quality of present day USC education is not in question here. You, Don Key, and others have yet to address what it is about the Left that stimilates you. Question: It may stimulate you but does it does it stimulate our countries economy, culture, autonomy, sensibility, protection from enemies outside our borders, and social strength?
USC’s intellectual strength and prowess from 1965 to 1969 far exceeded today’s campus awareness. In those years, Reality and Goodness ruled the day. There wasn’t a hint of the Hellish Hippie Thing that had enveloped Cal, UCLA, etc This Thing of vicious Rebellion against all that is good and just, is NOW the driving force of your LEFT, your Life.
I would like to see evidence that all students in college today would recognize the peril their future is in because of the Mind-Set of the Obama Administration. I know I do!
Fight On!
To snarfy ( really) i am a former special operations combat medic who served in war time. I learned to suffer patiently, and patiently suffer, i have learned what it means to sacrifice for something greater than ones self. As much i love USC football i know that there are much more important things in life.
The Donkey criticized the lack of thought and eloquence from those who claim they graduated his alma mater. The Donkey places Ms Charlie and the three initial posters along with schammer47 in the same uneducated bucket. The Donkey will not allow besmirching of his university.
The Donkey reminds — for those not in the known — that his nom de guerre has nothing to do with political affiliation, rather a reaction to the over the top cheerleader criticism from seasons past.
The Donkey employs USC graduates for over 60% of his executives positions and not all of them agree on their political beliefs, but they discuss their differences as gentlemen in erudite discussions.
LJ, you are a glutton for punishment! remember last time you trid to match wits with the ChckerBucker, it ended badly as you had an emotional meltdown and comically threatened to sue the Cadre for defamation which resulted in everyone, including trOJies, calling you an immature baby and laughing you off the blog!!!
the sugar sweeeet old saying is so true….there is no fool, like an old fool!!
AUUUUUUUUUU-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Was Jane Fonda at the Obummer Rally??
The Donkey reads like, well, exactly what a donkey is–an ass. Waste 5 minutes of your life and Google “Don Key” and you’ll find that he truly is a left wing nut. This explains why he was so upset at people’s negative opinions of the Prez. Of course, he’s also the person who continued to bash a UCLA player after finding that that player was deceased. What class!
Donkey employs executives? Nice try–that was funny. Donkey doesn’t employ anybody.
A People who Reward the Innocent and Punish the Guilty will know Life in all it’s Abundance. A People who Torment and Rebuke the Innocent and Award the Guilty will know Death in the innermost reaches of their Heart. Who knows Right from Wrong ? It’s up to each Voter to make that determination before Nov. 2.
I will vote for Life.
schammer47
A People who Award the Guilty (Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Brown, etc) and Torment and Rebuke the Innocent (our Millions of Teaparty Patriots) will experience the same Misery and Decay that always accompanies Injustice. There are no exceptions.
thanks Obama for taking away the “pre-existing condition” loophole for the insurance companies and helping the unemployed with some extensions.
but the rest of it was pretty much a failure.
As info: the commies in portland & eugene who don’t bathe are not football fans (for some reason, they like soccer). They originally came from California — you all can have them back any time you want them.
The Donkey yawns and doesn’t have to wonder why some folks are in the situation they are. The Donkey says imagination is not a replacement for education.
Donkey truly is an ass…a jackass.
If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.
– Winston Churchill
And after reading some of the above posts, another of his lines comes to mind:
The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter.
Fight On!
Snarfy, you’re right. There are a lot of conservative meatheads making themselves look ridiculous on this blog.
I overlooked the comment posted by snarfy so I must respond.
“Obama has absolutely nothing to do with the problems that brought down the GSEs…”
You clearly fail at reading comprehension. I did not blame him for the fact that the GSEs failed. I blame him for not ADDRESSING the problem of GSEs. He initially set a $400B cap on bailing them out and then quietly removed the cap on Christams Eve 2009. He supported a Financial Reform bill (“Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010”) that’s over 2000 pages and doesn’t mention GSEs. How do you have financial reform when by some estimates you have a $1 trillion albatross out there? Obama is hardly the first president to blink at these major economic problems. For some reason, however, it upsets people to hold him accountable as well.
“The stimulus did not fail. You might look up what the CBO says about it so far…”
Actually, I have read what the CBO says. It estimates what the impact has been with, of course, wide statistical margins. What you don’t understand is even if the CBO’s high estimates are correct, was it worth the $800B+ cost? You might also want to read what the CBO says about the GSEs and then get the real story from independent sources. Even the CBO doesn’t think the situation is good but they are still too optimistic. The CBO also says the effect of the stimulus will gradually wane in the second half of 2010 and beyond. Guess what? We’re in that 2nd half right now. You know what won’t wane and will actually grow? The $800B+ it cost plus interest!
“It’s clear the current deficits are large, but who else would you geniuses propose should lever up to offset the spiraling effects of consumers levering down?”
That’s the point–there’s no easy way out of this. You seem to think somebody is going to go to Washington, wave a magic wand and get us out of the messes we’re in. We need somebody who will level with the people–one who will understand there are tough choices ahead because we are on an unsustainable path. Do you think our creditors are faking their fury?
