Basketball Recruiting
A lot of underclassmen basketball recruits will be at the USC-Oregon football game tomorrow,including several juniors: forward Xavier Johnson of Mater Dei, forward Grant Jerret of La Verne Lutheran, guard Gabe York of Orange Lutheran and forward Zena Edosomwan of Harvard-Westlake.

Morning Buzz
It’s time to analyze Lane Kiffin and Co. on the eve of the second half of the season.
OK, it’s big-game week, so here is the Thursday night edition of USC Report with myself and correspondent Kari Van Horn.
O’Neill On Fontan
USC basketball coach Kevin O’Neill talked today about point guard Jio Fontan, who transferred from Fordham and will be eligible in Decemeber.
“He’s going to be a major part of our team. I think the expectations are very high on him. He’s the kind of guy who thrives on that, so he’s looking forward to it. And, his first game is going to be at Kansas on national TV. I’m sure that will be an adjustment for him, but I have confidence in him.”
Combo Tournament
The Pac-10 announced it will sort of combine it’s men’s and women’s basketball tournaments this season. The women’s semifinals and final will be at Staples Center before the men play those games.
The initial rounds of the women’s tournament will remain at the Galen Center.
