More On Ronald Johnson

USC coach Lane Kiffin on wide receiver Ronald Johnson after the game.
“I don’t know that I’ve seen player ever take a game or a play harder than Ronald did,” Kiffin said. “He was a wreck after the game. I had him in (the locker room), just me and him. He was so emotional.
“It’s probably my fault because I talked about how important this game was. He felt he let people down. He felt that weight on his shoulders. It’s been very tough for him.”

  1. Ronald Johnson is a classy kid. It was a horrible, unfortunate drop. Mustain played well, but no excuse to throw the INT. However, do not want Barkley playing against UCLA. Hope Mustain gets the start and finds redemption to end his college career.
Also, knew that pathetic loser BruinSlob would be back. Only a coward kicks someone when they’re truly down. But that’s a Bruin fan for you. USC will always be better than the school across town. Always.
Now it’s time to go OWN THAT ROSE BOWL once again.
    Fight on!

  2. A team playing down to the level of the opponent? Maybe someone explain this to Lane on why he lost so many games at the end. Game management, making adjustments, coaching players to get better during the season, getting the team “up” for a game… This team was so under prepared and playing worst as the season progressed, you wonder what Lane Kiffin ever learned while he was head coach at the other two venues? RoJo had to perform-excell in that environment. Whether or not his team was playing to their potential, he should have caught the damn ball anyway. But he was a victim on a roller coaster ride. That had to add to his grief.

  3. I know I talk a lot of shit on here, but I feel for Ronald Johnson, especially in a game vs. ND. I know I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes. Can you imagine how the kicker for Boise State feels? damn.

  4. i’m sure the kicker for ND feels much much worse. i mean, even if Rojo had caught the ball and SC had gone on to win, it would have meant they were 8-4 instead of 7-5. yeah i know it’s notre dame but it’s not like he cost his teammates a real shot at anything.

the boise state kicker missed TWO field goals….and they were both chip shots. one would have won the game and the 2nd would have secured a 2nd overtime (assuming things played out like they did…hard to say since the playcalling might have been different)

just wow though. and that cost them a trip to the rose bowl. he must be praying so hard right now that oregon and auburn win out…cuz if one of them loses, it’s safe to say he cost his team a berth in the national title game.

  5. Former SC DB Jeff Fisher overcame a similar “Buckner” moment 30 years ago. RoJo should give him a call.

  6. I remember Dwayne Jarrett made a big catch against ND (in a game that never really took place ::wink wink::).

    RoJo? Not so much.

  7. Conquest,

Did you have $$$ on this game? Damn, you’re hard on RoJo. Jeff Fisher is not going to coach college.

  8. RE: Tailback Allen Bradford is also healthy and did not play against Notre Dame because of fumbling issues, the reason Bradford’s played sparingly for several games.

However, The Kiffer lays it on thick for wide receiver Ronald Johnson after the game.

The Kiffer is out of his friggin mind to withhold a healthy RB out of this game and a senior. Screw The Kiffer with his hypocrictal. Does he think the AB is fumbling on purpose. That he fumbles because he is not trying to win. If this is standard to play mistake free football we wouldn’t have an elgilble OL, WRs, and a QB. My passing shot would be The Kiffer benching himself for not calling TO’s in the Stanford game and for some of the most boring play calling in all of football.

  9. The thing both Kiffin and Ronald have in common: mediocrity. Lick your tears and buck up, Ronald! This is SC, not Div II football.
