Issue No. 1

I said during the offseason whenever asked about Lane Kiffin’s hiring that the true test of his coaching would be when adversity struck and how USC responded? Whether he could get the Trojans to bounce back and play with belief?
After getting routed by Oregon State, there was not an inspired effort against Notre Dame. And even the victory over Arizona State following the loss to Oregon, was an emotionally wanting performance. USC did respond to its loss to Washington with verve against Stanford.
So right now, the reviews are mixed at best.

  1. agreed, wolf, agreed.

if we somehow lose this week i think kiffin’s on the hot-seat based on 2011 season’s results. he may be already. haden did not hire him.

Did you? Do you know how to use question marks?

  3. fyi Haden was on the search committee that hired Kiffin.

Kiffin has at least 2 more years at USC unless he takes any of Wolf’s advice.

  4. Wolf:
    Horsepuckey.
It was a tough game. Offense sputtered with backup QB. Shallow D-line staff. Ridiculous second half conditions.
It was a tough game. Hated to lose it. Lots of “ifs”.
Only criticsm I have of Kiffin is that long pass to RoJo that resulted in the interception… WHY go for the home run when we had time and were moving the ball well?

  5. Right now the reviews are definitely negative on many fronts concerning this program. I don’t see the crosstiown battle anything other than a struggle to score on both sides and a fumble or pick will decide the game at the end. It will be one boring game! When Lane sits down to have his year’s end review, where will the converstion start? Lane needs to understand he has weaknesses and I hope Pat Haden has a list of them on paper for Lane to address. Two are very important: Get new coordinators on both sides of the line of scrimmage!

  6. Fire PAPPY? You must be kidding. O.k., but only if he’s replaced by George Allen..(George has been dead for 20 years, but I gotta believe he’d be more of an asset than PAPPY). Enough of this NEPOTISM CRAP!
