USC 76, Lehigh 49

The Trojans (8-5) win easily in the final game before the start of Pacific-10 Conference play.
“Coming off a six-day road trip, I thought we’d be a little slow out of the gate, but we did a good job,” USC coach Kevin O’Neill said. “I thought we were a little tired but we actually played good basketball.”

Concessions Debacle

There were some unhappy fans at the USC basketball game tonight against Lehigh. About half the concession were never opened and those that were open ran low on hot dogs, pizza and popcorn.
“Then they wonder why people don’t come to games,” a fan told me.
USC is faring far better on the court, leading Lehigh 69-43 with 6:24 left.

USC plays Utah in Game 2 on Sept. 12 at the Coliseum. The Utes did not acquit themselves too well in games with TCU and Boise State, so they seem less imposing. On the other hand, Utah only started four seniors.
If I had to handicap the game, I’d say USC needs to worry more about itself (i.e. the offensive line) than the Utes.
