Finishing up the forum with mostly recruiting questions.

Have you thought about writing a book about the Carroll years at USC” Get Jacked Forever”??, and what kind of relationship do you have with Pete Arboghast. Sorry for 2 questions.ok

A: I have thought about doing a book on the Carroll because so many interesting things happened during that period. I really don’t have much interaction with the radio people, so I guess I’d describe it as “professional.”

Wolf,

In light of the recent commitments of Amir Carlisle and Anthony Sarao and considering our recent exchange (see below), I would like to know if you have any stock picks? 😉

With Harbaugh going to the 49ers do you know or do you expect USC to cherry-pick some of the Stanford commits? Which would you anticipate them going after? It seems highly unlikely that some of their top prospects (or any actually) would want to go there now that Harbaugh is not there, because looking at what the program was before him, well they were horrible.

A: I really don’t anticipate recruits leaving Stanford for two reasons: Many recruits want to go to Stanford because it is Stanford. They want something different. And when there is a coaching change, you always hear about recruits leaving but at the end of the day, usually few actually leave. Look at the Pete Carroll-Lane Kiffin transition last season. Kiffin kept most of the recruits that committed to USC.

Answer: It’s still true that most schools keep the vast majority of their commitments when there is a coaching change. Perhaps the two decommits speak more to the power of Jim Harbaugh. He did beat USC three out of four times so once he left these recruits must have felt the magic was gone from Stanford.

Scott, as of the date you answer this, what do you think our chances are of landing two offensive linemem who can help right away? Thanx for taking time to answer our questions.

A: I’m not optimistic. Offensive tackle Cyrus Koundijo is not going to visit USC before signing date. Offensive tackle Antonio Richardson of Nashville looks like a strong chance to sign because he’s been recruited for so long by USC’s coaching staff. Offensive guard Aundrey Walker of Cleveland will be tough to get away from the Big Ten schools. There’s also offensive guard Cyrus Hobbi, but I’m not sure he can help right away yet.
