Small World

Linebacker Kent Turene, a USC commitment, hung out with former USC linebacker Jarvis Jones last weekend during Turene’s official visit to Georgia. Turene said he is officially committed to USC but has not “finalized” any decision.
He probably did not hear much positive from Jones about USC. Jones was unhappy USC doctors would not clear him to play following a neck injury last year and transferred to Georgia.

Retread Watch

Smith was famously hired twice at USC by Pete Carroll and the second time never actually worked a day before bolting for the Cleveland Browns (because they hired his son too, hmmm that sounds familiar!).
Anyways, Smith was best known at USC for his low-energy style. One quarterback at USC told me he fell asleep in quarterback meetings under Smith.

Not-Respectable Losses

USC basketball is mired in a Pac-10 slump, losing three of its past four games. But a couple earlier losses are not holding up too well. Bradley is 0-9 in the Missouri Valley Conference and 6-14 overall while TCU is 1-5 in the Mountain West and 10-11 overall.
