Here’s the entry we post sometimes for the commenters from both schools who enjoy speaking to each other.

  1. I wanted to give a double congratulations to all ucla fans for this week.

    1. It was good to see the basketball school actually win a game in basketball. You guys must be so proud of the 1-4 run over the past 5 contests. If you guys can keep Smith on the treadmill and out of In n out you might be decent.

    2. And the biggest congrats on your football recruiting class. I can only dream of what it would be like to have a great recruiter like Slick Rick on our side. Maybe one day in the future Lane and Co. can somehow bridge that gap. We can’t let you guys keep getting those big time recruits away from Sac State without a battle.

In the end congrats on the greatest week in ucla sports since your last gymnastics or softball title!

  2. From the looks of ucla’s recruiting class, one might think they have dropped a division.

  3. Congrats to fUCLA on finally beating USC in basketball…it only took five tries. As for football, even at its lowest point with sanctions, the Trojans are still miles above the bRuins.

    Fight On!
    Beat the bRuins!

  4. I don’t follow ucla sports, and I cannot name one bruin basketball player except that big guy Smith. So bruins are irrelevant in my world, except for the 5-6 posters here. As to them, keep posting and insulting, because it is taken as a back-handed compliment that you care so much about SC.

  5. UCLA supporters, this is all fun & games in debating the crosstown rivalry, but seriously, both schools have been in dire straights in its football programs. All anyone (the fans) ask is if the adminstration cares… that’s what it is all about. Because if it doesn’t care, then it will hire a Dan Guerrero (who didn’t have any experience running a football program but still got the job)and it certainly shows, who will hire a Rick Neuhiesel (who had a reputation of lying everywhere he went) who is hiring/firing to keep his job and the Administration could care less other than hold its hand out for the TV & marketing money. Once you get that resolved, then you will see things change. By the way, who did UCLA recruit anyway? ESPN wants to why…

  6. Whenever I go see a USC-fucla football game at the Rose Bowl (and I’ve been to all of them), some bruin fan wants to talk trash and start a fight. They never fight but try to act tough. Is it in their DNA to get their butts whipped and expect it? I’m starting to think so.

  7. @SUCFTB1- That’s funny because last time i went to the suc vs ucla game at the Rose Bowl,it was a dude in cardinal and gold that pulled out a knife. I guess that’s what your motto means ” fight (dirty) on”!

  8. wolfman, very clever of you to set up this rat trap for bitter trOXans!! what is it with this TOTAL OBSESSION with UCLA?? even in the trOXans finest hour, rather than enjoy the moment, they fixate on trying to putdown UCLA!! rather queeer! but like a bitter ex-girlfriend, trOXans just don’t understand that you can’t hurt someone’s feelings unless they give a half-$hit about you!!

just look at the above obsessed, bitter posts, led by the most envious, BRUIN OBSESSED trOXan of all, LJ!! we can’t stop laughing at you, while you guys just can’t quit us!!

so as Odysseus shouted to the Cyclops: rage on you fools!! rage on!!

  9. What a week. A look back…

-“Their guards are good, our guards are good,” Fontan, a junior, said. “I’d bet money that our guards are just as good if not better than their guards. They just played a better game.”

Jio Fontan…after NOT SCORING A SINGLE BASKET against UCLA

  10. I get it! UCLA is squeaky clean and an example for USC and everyone else to follow.

There are both Trojans and Bruins in my family, so Ill try to keep this factual.

    Where to start?

Per Wikipedia: Neuheisel has been linked to several recruiting and other NCAA violations during his time at Colorado and Washington, and his disciplinary style was faulted for enabling inappropriate, violent, and in some cases criminal behavior by players at Washington. The

New York Times wrote that while at Washington, Neuheisel “kept the N.C.A.A. enforcement staff as busy as his players kept the local police.” He coached the Huskies to a victory in the 2001 Rose Bowl, but was fired from Washington in August 2003 for betting on the NCAA Basketball Tournament in a bracket pool.

AND, under his short tenure his coaching skills are showing impressive results:
    * Safety E.J. Woods left the UCLA program in June 2009 while facing multiple charges of battery and sexual battery
    * Three freshmen were dismissed from the team — linebacker Josh Shirley, defensive back Shaquille Richardson and receiver Paul Richardson — were arrested on suspicion of theft.
    * Numerous suspensions: receiver Josh Smith and F-back Morrell Presley, offensive tackle Mike Harris, receiver Randall Carroll, cornerback Courtney Viney and tailback Milton Knox.
    * Offensive lineman Stanley Hasiak was dismissed from the team but later reinstated.

And last, there were UCLA players called out for taking money or benefits in Josh Luchs’ article Confessions of an Agent.

Turning to UCLAs recent performance on the field:

2010: UCLA loses to USC 28 to 14: UCLA record 4-8
2009: UCLA loses to USC 28 to 7: UCLA record 6-6
2008: UCLA loses to USC 28 to 7: UCLA record 4-8

Finally, with this years recruiting haul; per Scout.com, UCLA ranked 53rd.

Frankly, it’s satisfying to know that UCLA’s culture/transgressions (including bruin fans running over to this blog to throw stones) have not been rewarded with results. Perhaps call it karma.

  11. Digging up weak material (participating in a Basketball Pool?….Mercy Nurse!)from 2003? Your insides must be churning.
    OMG!
The Cheatey Years…those were the good old days!
Reggie Bush, Joe Mcknight (the fall out from this one is gonna be devastating!) Cushing on Roids, Rey on Roids, Coach Sweat, Ting & Ting….ding a ling ling! O.J.(both of ’em) make’s me blush…Floyd thought the secret word was “HUSH”. Who taught Seau how to drive?, Leon Spinks? Don’t forget Cole Ford (what was the deal with Sigfried and Roy….Menage a trois gone bad?), Hershel (Date Rape) Dennis, Eric (Ectasy) Wright, Winston (Sixshooter)Justice, Darrell (RIP) Russell, and who could ever forget Frostee Rucker (rape of an 11 yr. old, indecent exposure, beating up his girlfriend NUMEROUS times). Prior to last week, some people thought you guys were really cleaning up your act…afterall….Dillon was suspended ONLY TWICE, last season (or was it THREE TIMES, phone, blunts, golfcart) and Trogan MarkeiFF suspended once…but last weeks avalanche of bad news shows you guys haven’t lost your TOUCH!
(I know I didn’t highlight many other infamous Troxan incidents, but I got a little bored….and besides, I’m sure there’s plenty of new material hitting the press in the upcoming days). You guy’s are the best!
    FRite on Tr O.J.an
The Curse of the gay bronze horse (francis?) is upon you!

  12. You haters spend hours compiling your comprehensive lists and then add something like “just to name a few” when you know if there were others you would have included them.
As a realist there have been too many incidents but don’t make it out like you only selected a few. When you include a ride in a golf cart you’re done.

  13. Jethro Bodine: you must’ve dove into the cee-ment pond after they drained the water out!!

NewHassle and the Bruins have remained squeaky clean, and when any issues arose, Neu has taken names and kicked a$$!!

meanwhile Southern Cal continues to do it’s best Linday Lohan impression….on probation, but just can’t help the self-destructive behavior!!!!

    ok just this week:
    Kiff popped by NCAA!
    Agin’ Cajun investigated by NCAA!
Everson Griffen, popped twice, grabbed cop’s crotch! :O
Mitch Mustain popped for drug dealing!!
and now…..according to the internets, Mark Sanchez being investigated for inappropriate contact with a minor!!!

    oh, Double Mercy Nurse!!!!!!

  14. Chuck, I mean Count,

Has it come down to this with Neuheisel? He runs a dirty program like he did in his previous head coaching stops and has moderate success or he stays clean and the record is pathetic. It seems he is going for the latter in Westwood.
    You folks must be elated!

  15. Looks like I hit a nerve 🙂 I guess I’ll save the digging when trying to count UCLAs national football championships and Heisman winners.

BTW, Jethro, I couldnt agree with you more. Basically, it’s twisted logic.

In one of the above bruin ramblings, gut burning was mentioned. When in reality, its funny how some of these guys are angry and motivated enough to travel to a rival site for attention. If UCLA football were relevant (thank you, Rick Neuheisel!) they wouldnt have to.

Again, turning to UCLAs recent performance on the field:

2010: UCLA loses to USC 28 to 14: UCLA record 4-8
2009: UCLA loses to USC 28 to 7: UCLA record 6-6
2008: UCLA loses to USC 28 to 7: UCLA record 4-8

    Tear it up, guys!
