Three USC basketball recruits will be in action tonight at the Anaheim Convention Center in the CIF Division I-AA semifinals. Centennial (26-3) faces junior guard Katin Reinhardt of Mater Dei (27-2) at 6:30 p.m. while point guard Alexis Moore of Long Beach Poly (27-1) faces guard Byron Wesley of Etiwanda (28-2) at 8:30.
It would have been four recruits at one time because Centennial’s Gelaun Wheelwright was one of the first players to commit to USC after Kevin O’Neill was hired.
So what happened? Wheelwright’s grades were an issue but then USC also cooled on his basketball skills. Wheelwright signed with Weber State.
