Lane Kiffin said Jesse Scroggins currently leads the backup quarterback race. That is not surprising because Scroggins is the most experienced of the reserves. But Kiffin said he will wait to make an official decision until a quarterback “distances” himself from the competition.
“He’s been one of the better guys in camp,” Kiffin said of Scroggins.
