Black Helmet

USC’s black helmet is going to have a matte finish, which means a lusterless surface. That just happens to be the same surface as Oregon’s black football helmet, pictured above.

It’s also the same matte finish as ASU’s new black helmet.

If all this crap about the new uniform and helmet are true, then the proverbial shit is going to hit the fan with a lot of SC fans and alumni. Hey Kiffin, get ready to be booed by over 90,000 fans when you take the Coliseum wearing this half ass Haloween costume. SC should not be mimicking any program. The pride and tradition is something that OTHER school aspire to be, not the other way around. The last time someone jacked around with the uniform/logo, he got his ass fired…can you say Larry Smith.

You people are so ignorant. If there is a tradition associated with the football uniform, its a tradition of change. No logo, numbers on the helmet and (GASP!) gold helmets have all been worn in the past. USC football actually existed before 2004.

89…….How about sticking with the TV era, starting in the 1960s. The uniforms are basically the same as the sixties, except for the logo on the helmet. The 80s and 90s era had stripes on the sleeves instead of the shoulder.
