A: Considering how she just canceled her summer tour and slurred the words to a song, I won’t be surprised either way.

A: I don’t think there is any question he was not the most qualified candidate when he was hired but Mike Garrett did not do an extensive job search. He looked at Mike Riley and Jack Del Rio and Kiffin. All were former USC coaches or players. That’s not a proper search. But Garrett wanted to make a pretty quick hire after Pete Carroll departed and relied on his usual tiny circle of advisors. So it was a dubious process at best.

The Black Coaches Association usually, pretty much always complains publically if a major school does not include a black coach prospect in the interviewing process. I do not recall them at any time, raising a concern over MGs quick process.

I definitely thought MG should have hired Chris Petersen, but after watching Kiffin and staff the past year, I think we’ll be okay. When you’re working with 75 schollies, you need someone who can out-recruit everyone else – and Kiffin & Orgeron can do that.

Kiffin’s record may not be that impressive, but when you consider that he doubled Oakland’s win total and increased Tennessee’s win total, he didn’t do all that bad. Last year could have/should have gone better for us, but if not for Rojo’s drop, a dubious score keeper at the Farm, and the defense’s inability to stop long third and fourth down conversions by Locker, our record would have been 11-2 last year. Not bad. Not bad at all.
