USC Baseball!

South Carolina won its second consecutive College World Series title. The Gamecocks will now try to threepeat. The last team to do that? USC, of course. The real one. The Trojans won five straight titles from 1970-74. But when will they return to a College World Series?

  1. I hate to say it but the University of South Carolina was founded first in 1801 so they have first claim to the moniker USC. They’ve sucked at sports for so long everyone has forgotten them until now.

  2. Wolfbag,

Your attempt at a joke is tired and wasn’t ever really funny. Just answer the questions we ask. There is no need for anything else from you. Thanks in advance.

  3. Could Wolfie’s sense of humor be any more dorky?

South Carolina was known as South Carolina College (SCC) until becoming USC in 1957. So, nope, the University of Southern California is the original USC. Sorry, ‘cocks.

  6. When was the last time a private school won the College World Series? 2003 Rice beat Stanford in the College World Series. When did the reduction in scholarships happen. Sometime around 2007? Seriously, 11.7 scholarships is ridiculous. Women’s basketball has 15 scholarships. Baseball has what, around 30 on the team.
