USC incoming freshmen J.R. Tavai and Antwaun Woods must receive passing SAT scores before they meet NCAA Clearinghouse requirements. Steve Dillon, who signed late, is taking summer school in the Antelope Valley.

Former USC player Lonnie White offers a first-person account of how he accepted $14,000 in some form of “benefits,” during his college career, including $5,000 in a brown bag for season tickets.
White was a sportswriter at the Los Angeles Times, worked at the Daily Trojan when I was a USC student and also taught a class at USC.

The Galen Center hosts graduation ceremonies for Crenshaw High School today at 1 p.m. featuring speaker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Like Staples Center, Galen Center does not feature a statue of Abdul-Jabbar either.

The USC Rising Stars football camp starts today on campus. Since linemen rarely get a lot of buzz, two players scheduled to attend are center Matt Cochran and defensive tackle Aziz Shittu, both from Atwarter, Calif.
