Does Ohio State think its wrist slap and making Jim Tressel its sacrificial lamb will get it off the hook from NCAA sanctions? Doubtful.

    Not when your president makes a statement like “…I hope Jim Tressel doesn’t fire me” shows who the University was letting run their athletic programs at tOSU. That was probably the most telling thing I had ever heard about today’s college athletics. Just astonishing to say that on the day your coach admits lying straight to the university and the NCAA’s face.

    In my view, this is a much more grievous circumstance than the USC debacle. If the NCAA does not come down hard on OSU with additional sanctions, it will prove what a joke they truly are, which of course we all know already.

    Trojan fans will no-doubt have something to respond to if the NCAA sanctions are not measured proportionately to those thrown at the SC program. By that, it will be “icing on the cake” for the SC fanbase convinced our program was made an unfair example of. Then Pat Haden will need a good response (possibly a plan “B”) to the onslaught coming assuredly towards his & Nikias’ passive non-combative nature they have embraced towards the NCAAs actions. In a worst scenario, it could blow up in the present SC administration’s face which will then put additional pressure on Kiffin to win almost all this season’s games. The only way you can appease an angry fanbase is to win! One domino drops, the others follow…
