Quick Thought

Did the Pac-8 hire announcers from Arizona in when it expanded to 10 teams in 1979? Just wondering after Larry Scott’s bouquet to Utah/Colorado with the new announcing team of Craig Bolerjack (voice of Jazz) and Joel Klatt (former Colorado QB).

  1. What the Pac-12 conference should have is a rule of removing a school out of the conference if its football team is in last place for 3 or 4 successive years. Maybe that would get some of these “hanger on” schools be more honest in pulling their own weight as good partners. Can anyone honestly say Washington State has been a good partner? What have they brought into the conference other than embaressment?

  2. Actually, we should have a play-in game. Any school in the general territory can petition to play the worst team in the conference at the end of the year for the right to replace it in the conference. We could call it the Larry Scott Wolf Bowl. Teams on post-season probation would not be, errrr, eligible for this special bowl game. An outside team that plays in the play-in game would not be eligible for further bowl participation.

At halftime, Wolfie would evaluate the teams’ cheerleading squad and award up to 7 extra points to the team with the better looking squad.
