Kiffin not managing his timeouts at the end of the 2nd half. Unexcusable. With such little time left after Stanford scored, USC should use the first two timeouts if tackled in-bounds (regardless of whether it is a first down). USC lost a few seconds by failing to call at least one timeout. That is on Kiffin, not the refs.

Lastly, I predicted the Luck pick-six in the “predict the score” post. Kind of like the blind squirrel finding the acorn.

If TJ McDonald doesn’t make that personal foul Luck is 4th and 6, two minutes and change left and two time-outs. One defensive play and game over. Great weekend, UCLA wins, USC loses and we won’t see three people posting on here because they lost the bet…Rusty Buckets and Moron have kept their word to not post…while NOBS continues to negate on his word, which is not unsual considering he never does, he is not a man of his word…maybe because NOBS hasn’t seen his penis for many years now? still, there is no excuse! I’m sure he remembers he was born a “male”…but we all know that being born a “male” doesn’t guarantee you’re a man, right NOBS?

lets just hope they keep neweasel for at least 5 more years. The SEC schedules 1-AA teams and we all complain, but the PAC-12 all play UCLA every year, so it seems like it evens out.

But, from my Section 13-adjacent seat (read: home on the couch) I feel like Stanford played as poorly as they could and we still lost. Barkley, AGAIN, faltered in the 4th Qtr with the game on the line (back to back punts on SHORT drives) the special teams again failed (32 yd punt return set up game tying FG at 27). Monte failed again, putting a freshman in to guard the best TE (that just happens to be 6’8″) man-to-man on the goal line.
TJ’s penalty was weak. But, he is on the hit list and needs to change his game right now.
My heart goes out to McNeil. He plays the game of his life, only to lose discipline on the last play. At least he manned up. Maybe he can teach something to his head coach.
Hoping desperately that this group can bounce back. They have yet to play a complete game.

What SC Hangover? The Cadre was at the Big Party at the Rose Bowl. The UB/VB Tailage was rocking with barry & Neil playing on the boom box and shrimp on the barbie. Then when everyone squeezed into the Rose Bowl to watch CRN & the Dream Team lead the gutties to another classic victory it was a dream come true. It has taken longer than any of us Cadre members wanted but rick has things rolling now and the future is so bright weve gotta wear shades. CRN Baby, the monopoly is over!!!

Final, final SC-Stanford observations:

1. The coliseum not even half full 10 minutes before kickoff;

2. The coliseum packed with 93,000, a sliver of a moon in the southwest sky, the Trojan horse prancing with new “socks,” (were they light burgundy, Wolf, I couldnt’ tell), the band only playing about 20 Conquests instead of its usual 30-40, the only Stanford people around being tucked into the far southeast section where they could not be heard very well, even when the Cardinal won at the very end.

3. Curtis McNeal electifying the crowd with his two touchdown runs; McNeal causing all of the air to be let out of the Trojan balloon with the end-of-game fumble

4. The crowd screaming and acting as wildly as it did after the 1999 ucla game when the interception gave SC a brief 34-27 lead… My turning to my buddy Manny and saying “It’s still not over yet.”

5. Barkley having his second pretty darn good game. The kid looks as if he is auditioning for the NFL.

6. The crowd so spent with its constant yelling that it didn’t have much left in the three overtimes.

7. Both defenses looking as if they were heavily over-matched in the overtimes due to fatigue.

8. The Stanford band trying to make up for its lack of talent and lack of preparedness by doing its helter-skelter schtick…the SC band looking classy and playing great.

9. The lack of animosity between Cardinal and Trojan rooters despite the fact that these two west coast private schools’ alumni don’t usually go out for beers together.

10. Watching both teams leave the field quickly instead of meeting to shake hands, similar to what ucla does after SC games.

11. The SC band and cheerleaders staying after the game for 30-minutes with about 1000 Trojans enjoying their music and antics.
