Field Matters

How is it that Colorado has a better field than the Coliseum despite the fact two days ago Folsom Field was covered in snow? The field last night was as good as any in the Pac-12, which means it is the best with Arizona State.
But what about the Coliseum? It has a better climate. And no excuses.

  1. This is very surprising considering the absolute perfect job the Coliseum Commission has doen managing all other aspects of the Coliseum

  2. From Wikipedia: “The stadium is jointly owned by the State of California, Los Angeles County, and the City of Los Angeles; it is currently managed by the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission.”

    There you go!

  3. I think they got bonuses on the commission and had to take the cash from field repair accounts. Makes perfect sense if you are a politician.

“which means it is the best with Arizona State”? WTF does that mean. PROOFREAD SCOTTY, PROOFREAD.

  4. I must have been watching a different game with players losing their footing all night.

  5. I’m with Lance. There must have been at least a half dozen players that slid around like they were trying to steal 2nd base.

  6. Are you kidding me? The announcers said the field was “perfect.” So every time a player slid to the ground unassisted we shouted “But the field is perfect” at the TV.

  7. Thats why the announcers wondered what cleats the Buffs were wearing cuz so many guys were losing their footing.

  8. I’m with Lance as well. Players were losing their footing quite often although there isn’t much that can be done with the cold temperatures unless they have a heating mechanism under the field like Lambeau.

  9. Scooter,
    Here’s your problem…..the usual suspects….

From the County of Los Angeles: Zev Yaroslavsky, Mark Ridley-Thomas, Don Knabe (Vice President)

From the City of Los Angeles: Barry A. Sanders, Bernard C. Parks, W. Jerome Stanley
