No Distractions

Whenever USC beat someone like Notre Dame or Oregon, Lane Kiffin emphasized that those teams allowed distractions or changed their routine for the USC game. An example was Notre Dame using a special gold paint on its helmets and bringing 50 recruits to the game.
But USC introduced its seniors before the UCLA game and then had family members linger on the field longer than any salute in recent memory before the kickoff. That was a break of the normal routine that Kiffin strives to follow.
It really distracted the Trojans too, who only won the game, 50-0.
So much for that theory.

  1. SUC was distracted so much to the point of getting sanctioned. What distracted them so much they forgot to play by the rules? Easy to not get distracted when you know the only thing you look forward to is watch the Pac-12 South champion UCLA Bruins play for a berth in the Rose Bowl.
    UCLA – Champions Made Here.

  2. I can’t take it Scott Wolf! Being objective and bringing in a different view is all good, but all of your comment this week have been only negative about a perfect finish to the season. This is the time when the USC family has to come together against all the envy and anger from outside. Even you accept that NCAA and PAC-12 has not been fair to Trojans. Lane Kiffin may not be perfect, but he is a good coach with good intentions. USC family has to stay together through the sanctions. All you’ve been doing in the last weeks is twist words and write negative comments about a finish that all teams around the country are nothing but envious. USC finished 10-2 in a season that every one crossed them out. They got progressively better, and nobody, even LSU is not confident enough to face USC anymore. We beat both the North and South PAC-12 Champions. Even if you think there are wrong doings and things that can be improved, can you please keep them to yourself so that the Trojan family enjoy this off season?

  3. BruinRob…..give it a rest. Yes, SC had one idiot player who got involved with an agent 7 years ago. Yeah, that’s why SC beat the ruins 50-0.

  4. Hmmm… Who has more credibility on coaching and game preparation, the likely coach of the year of a USC team/program that has college football analysts marveling or a hack journalist that has never coached?

  5. buslu: fair post, but for LSU.
Though I was very impressed on both sides of the ball in the 50-0 pasting that still has us reeling, I will say this about the Tigers: They fear no one.
If you haven’t watched them yet, it is a monster SEC defense of epic proportions. I believe they have beaten SEVEN Top-25 teams, three in the Top-5.
I don’t like it. Don’t like Alabama either.
But this conference will, once again, churn out the next national champ. And I think they would be frothing at the mouth to face USC or anyone else across America at this point.

  6. “Whaaa whaaa whaa! My team can’t beat USC, so they must be CHEATING!! I’m going to tell my mommy!! Whaaa whaaa whaaa!!!”

    –Bruin Rob.

  7. SlobDusky, STFU. You’ve been popping off all year about your bRUins beating SC. 50-ZIP. Go clean out the urn. Or take the Slobs to breakfast. Just go away. Tool.

  8. I noticed when I Play my Super Niniendo, lil’ Super Mario keeps falling off cliffs no matter what I do. Only my Super Mario has wings so sometimes he soars and doesn’t splat!

But mostly he falls off cliffs. Ha!

  9. @ucla-of-the-rockies,
Thank you for your comment and replying in detail. I agree with what all you said. My comment was to Scott Wolf, the person who can’t be objective towards USC. I think USC has improved a lot, but still has some problem with the defense and still has fatigue issue in the fourth quarter. I think LSU defense and special teams are unmatched and they are the best team in the country no question. I was trying to say that USC would give a shot and make it a game with every team at the moment as a top five team. I would love to see USC play LSU next year!

  10. Seriously Scott??? How is this post beneficial to anyone? Give it a rest already and have a little perspective.

  11. Jethro, I think your advice can go a long ways more, if your Trojans would take your advice
    ….

    NOBS is a TURD .

  12. Funeral Announcement

We deeply regret the passing of ucla football. She collapsed on the night of November 26. Despite the hopes of her family members for a miracle Dr. Neu couldn’t close the gap. She is survived by SlobDusky, ThaiBean, 2 Buck Chuck, Miguelita, and many illegitimate children. Please come and celebrate the lack of life of ucla football.

    Time: December 2, 2011 5pm Pacific Time
    Place: Autzen Stadium
Dress Code: Anything that isn’t blue and gold. All white will do.

Please donate your Monopoly money to ucla athletic dept in lieu of flowers.

  13. poor scumbag N0BS has to resort to making fun of a bright college student that tragically passed away. If i had not been at the game and if i had turned the game on after the first 2 minutes, i would have thought the bruins were wearing cardinal and green. Those white uni’s were a great idea, they physically showed how man handled they were with all the stains.

  14. Apples and Oranges. It’s how and when you use motivational tools. When the game started the parents, et.al. were in their seats. But, can you imagine how that looked to USC recruits, and their parents? Not to mention how it made the seniors, and their parents feel? On the other hand, the fifty recruits were on the field the whole game. The ugly gold helmets were on their heads the whole game. The white toy uhis from Big 5 were on their bodies for the whole game. The recruits will make their decisions on….

  15. Please… Please…

    It hurts so much…

For the love of God, when will the beating stop?

I… I just can’t take it anymore. Doesn’t the little bald guy know I’m dead already? Why does he keep beating me?

    Please, God, make it stop!

  16. SlobDusky, You’ve been popping off all year about your bRUins beating SC. 50-ZIP. Go clean out the urn. Or take the Slobs to breakfast. Just go away. Tool.
Wait, let’s be friends. I’ll clean outthe urn and promise not to urinate in it again. ROFLMAO

Zero, it’s horrible to make fun of a guy that died like that. Bad karma.

  17. If BruinRob wants to keep harping on the cheating of a single USC player 150 miles off campus seven years ago, he might want to explain to those of us among the morally impaired how UCLA’s signature achievenemt in college atheltics some 40 years ago passes his Sam Gilbert test.

If any division one head coach turned the blind eye that Wooden turned to Gilbert’s shenanigans and then dismissed it with a “There’s as much crookedness as you want to find. There was something Abraham Lincoln said he’d rather trust and be disappointed than distrust and be miserable all the time. Maybe I trusted too much”, they would be fired before the NCAA had a chance to read the quote.

I guess the lesson USC needs to learn from UCLA is that if you’re going to cheat, be good at cheating – like UCLA.

  18. NOBS you big TURD – since when have you become such a sensitive person towards those that have passed on? Danelo took HIS OWN LIFE, he fell off a cliff, because he was drunk and made a sad and poor decision.

On the other hand MY WIFE’S life was taken by a drunk driver 20 years ago this past Thanksgiving and you have been making fun of her since I told you about it. You kept making sexual comments about my wife before you knew of her passing, so I gave you the opportunity to back off your insults of my wife by telling you of her INVOLUNTARY PASSING, courtesy of a drunk driver and you have not stopped with you insensitive commentary in every one of your posts.

NOBS, you are a piece of crap unworthy to be called human, I would not slam on my brakes if one day you J-walked in front of my car, in fact I would put it on reverse and run you over all over again, you worthless piece of sh!t.

  19. oneilwatch…..great post. I’d add the ex-agent who said that he paid many players from many schools, including UCLA and USC. Interesting antidote was he said that there were many players he paid that didn’t pick him as an agent, and Ryan Leaf was the only one who paid him back. I don’t know how schools are supposed to know what a player is getting from an outside source like an agent.

  20. @oneilwatch, I would welcome from you any documentation from the NCAA investigations that states UCLA was found guilty of paying or knowing of any one of the players on the UCLA teams getting paid 40 YEARS AGO.

During the same period USC was enjoying the same type of success on the football field and Marv Goux (like Sam Gilbert) was accused of funneling big money to the USC football player from the USC boosters, and there is no disputing that happened, it was wide publicized in the media at that time.

The NCAA dropped their investigation after the found “no wrong doing” by UCLA or John Wooden. That, my friend is what you will find if you pull up the NCAA investigation report on UCLA Basketball during the Wooden Era.

As for a single player cheating “150 miles off campus”? are you admitting that Reggie Bush never attended his classes, but rather hung out in San Diego, and would just show up for the games?

Did he not register his new vehicle with the university on December the 4, 2004? did not McNair the RB coach take pictures with Lake and Michaels? did not McNair attend parties at Hotels with Bush, hosted by players of the San Diego Chargers? did not Lake and Michaels roam the side lines during games and practice, and were visible numerous times in the USC locker room? – that’s according to the NCAA investigation report…let’s not get confused here, Bush was on campus, his PARENTS were 150 miles away.

@NOBS – “it’s horrible to make fun of a guy that died like that. Bad karma.” what a complete foolish hypocritical basTURD you are

  22. @bRUINslob: scoreboard! Pac-12 champs USC!!! (We actually won ON THE FIELD lmao) beat oregon, beat ucla, hence… USC 2011 Pac-12 Champions FIGHT ON!!!

  23. USC Pac-12 Champions 2011!!! Beat Oregon, absolutely humiliated Fucla, hence… Trojans win conference ON THE FIELD despite probation and sanctions!! So ARROGANT! Bahahahahaha enjoy Autzen, Ruins!! FIGHT ON!!!

  24. Wow, SlobDusky, now trying to connect me to NZERObs(who is really YOU) is REALLY bad karma. You are treading in water deeper than you can manage. Your KARMA is going down the drain. You have one last chance to be my friend. There are only a couple of requirements:

    1. Bow down and kiss my National Championship ring
    2. Stop using your other 23 “handles” on this blog
    3. Quit telling your life story to everyone
    4. Clean out that urn that is full of Urine.

Just waiting for your friendly reply.

  25. BruinRob, perhaps the NCAA found no wrongdoing because, according to 2010 article in the Times, the NCAA investigator was pulled off the case. According to the quote, “The paper quoted Brent Clark, an NCAA field investigator who said that, in 1977, he was told to drop his case in Westwood. “If I had spent a month in Los Angeles, I could have put them on indefinite suspension.”
Admittedly, the NCAA called Mr. Clark’s charge “fantasy”, but you will find the NCAA’s credibility somewhat in question on this board, so save your keystrokes.
You also need to stop intentionally misstating facts when you post your arguments. Bush’s car was a 10-year old Caprice. As far as I know such cars do not raise eyebrows even if they are painted and have rims on them that are worth more than the rest of the car. Not an unusual sight in Southern California. We all know people who buy and “trick out” old cars and we all roll our eyes and wonder why they spent what would appear to be all of their money “fixing up” a wreck. In fact, I believe there was a show on MTV that did just that.
Face it,any big-time athletic program in a major media market is vulnerable to external corruption and ucla’s athletic program is every bit as vulnerable as USC is and demonstrably succumbed to Sam Gilbert’s when its most revered head coach ran its most mythologized program.
Hold your breath and pray when you make these posts, that you won’t be eating your words in a few years.

  26. The NCAA investigation of Gilbert/Wooden?ucla was shelved, because it would have desroyed NCAA basketball.

  28. Riddle me this: what’s the difference between Mario “the Screaming Eagle” Danelo and a kickball?

A: Danelo don’t bounce very much.
