Morning Buzz

Fox Sports analyst John Lynch, who will work the UCLA-Oregon game, compared it to the USC-Stanford game in 2007.
“People say, ‘a 31-point underdog, how could it ever happen?’ How did my alma mater, Stanford, and Jim Harbaugh in his first year go down to the Coliseum and knock off USC when they were at a 41-point underdog? Is it possible? Absolutely.
“Players know that and coaches are selling it. I’ve been there before. The pressure is off you because you aren’t supposed to win.”

  1. I kind of think Darron Thomas will get yanked if he breaks a finger on his throwing hand though.

  2. There ain’t going to be any uckla upset, although I would not lay the 30 or 31 points.

  3. If Lou Holtz picks UCLA (like he went out on a limb with us two weeks ago), I’ll pay attention. #FightOnLouHoltz

  4. What is ynch gonna say ” Oh this game is going to be so one sided, don’t bother to watch. “

  5. Justin,
    .
You are right on. No one seems to remember that we had a QB who kept throwing picks. Why he didn’t get pulled is beyond me.

  6. The Force is strong with the Bruins now, i sense.

rally for their fallen leader, they will.

as Obi-Wan slew Darth Maul for honor of Qui-Gon, hmmm?

balance to the Force, this victory will provide.

    meditate on this, i will.

  7. All i remember from that Stanford game was Booty just lobbing it up to Stanford players. Although, I do think UCLA rallies for Neuheisel. I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable taking Oregon to cover.

  8. If I could write the ending I would have the Ducks score 51 and the last score be something like a UCLA fumble into the end zone. Oregon would have to beat USC more than 3X in a row to make Trojans hate them more than UCLA. Go Ducks!

  9. Booty broke his thumb on his throwing hand in the first half against Stanford. Carroll screwed up and let him play instead of Sanchez. Oregon will over against ucla. Despite wanting to send Rick out with a win, the talent gap between the two teams is way too wide for the little blue pansies to hope for much. Kevin Prince will get his clock clean and the UO offense will score 60.

  10. Mr. Lynch, I served with Stanford in 2007. I knew Stanford in 2007. Stanford in 2007 was a friend of mine. Mr. Lynch, UCLA is no Stanford in 2007.

  11. I think it goes like this:

I knew John Kennedy, I served with John Kennedy and he was a friend of mine. And you, sir, are no John Kennedy.

At the time I thought it was a nasty barb, typical of polticians, and I haven’t changed my mind
