ESPN analyst Craig James is going to run for a United States Senate seat in Texas, according to the Dallas Morning News. Let’s remember what former Kentucky coach Hal Mumme said of James.
“Craig James is an (expletive), and everybody in Texas knows it,” Mumme said.
Sounds like a perfect candidate.

  1. This will be a very tall task for Craig James. The GOP Senate primary in Texas has at least two top-tier candidates, so this strikes me as a full-pads practice (get it?) for a future campaign.

My guess is he will be a hit with people on the stump, and we know he can perform on camera. If he shows some facility with the issues, he will be pretty well-positioned to seek another office, another day.

  2. Maybe his son can go into a closet with his cell phone and take a phony recording of himself locked in a closet and…oh wait he already did that.

Anything to get him off ESPN I am so tired of him salivating over any team from the SEC or big 12,
    hopefully Granny will go next

  3. His candidacy ends his ESPN career. If ESPN were to allow him to broadcast football games, I believe his opponents are entitled to equal access on ESPN (even if James makes no political statements). Glad to see him go. James was always anti-USC.

  4. DT-89

Texas has two top tier and two middle tier candidates that I am aware of running for Hutchinson’s soon to be vacated US Senate seat. All four candidates are to the right of center, solid conservatives, who have already sent me brochers asking for donations.

Craig James? Let’s see: his son, all by himself, got Texas tech coach Leach fired. If James shows his face in west Texas, he’s more libel to get a broomstick shove up his a** then a conversation; and then, C. James was a tailback (a football player no less) for SMU at the time SMU was served the DEATH PENALTY. Nothing to right home about !!!

Texas is and always will be a FOOTBALL CRAZY STATE. C. James is one of our histories bad boys. As a father of 4 sons, I have observed chikensh*t fathers produce chickensh*t sons. Not in my household and I am sure not in the households of the 4 men running against James.

As a member of the Texas Republican Delegation, I will work to prevent James from holding any elective office in our beloved state.

    FIGHT ON !!!
