Perhaps the most important aspect of T.J. McDonald’s return is that Deon Bailey can now remain at linebacker.

What is the status of Patrick Hall. He was one of the top recruits a couple years ago, but injuries have plagued him. Has the coaching staff given up on him or can he still potentially have a bright future as a cornerback or safety?

A: He suffered two season-ending injuries in back-to-back years. That can sometimes end a career. I hear he is going to come back. We’ll have to wait and see if he can last for a sizeable amount of time this year without getting hurt. He was at one time considered for running back but I don’t know if the injuries have slowed him down now. I’d say he’s kind of limbo now especially if Lane Kiffin needs some scholarships back.

A: He is supposed to be OK academically to enroll at USC next month. We shall see. USC”s track record’s been pretty good lately on getting recruits into school so I would bet he qualifies.
I think his addition creates a lot of competition at the spot opposite T.J. McDonald between Bowman, Drew McAllister and Jawanza Starling. More important, it means Deon Bailey will stay at linebacker next season which I think is vital for the linebacker corps.

  3. Sounds as if Ugly Bucket threw away his Christmas gift of a 10 pound ball of humility.

    Well, one thing you can say about Ugly, and that is he never has anything positive to say about SC.

    And after 11 football national championships the Trojans are used to outsiders’ negativity.
