At Least The Soft Serve Works

That’s about the best thing to say about tonight’s basketball game at the Galen Center. USC (5-11, 0-3) lost its seventh game in the past eight but should never have lost to the Sun Devils, who were without leading scorer Keala King and and starter Kyle Cain.
And now the Trojans face an angry Arizona team, fresh off a loss to UCLA.

  1. About every week or so, I post this kind of comment: Until ‘SC fires Kevin O’Neill and hires a real coach who will build a real team, the basketball program will continue its embarrassing decline.

Like almost all fans, I don’t expect basketball to match football, but there’s no justification for this continued disappointment. None.

  2. When was the last time USC had a real coach?

Bob Boyd 216- 131 13 years head coach
    Stan Morrison 103 -95 ( 1 tourney app ) 7 years head coach
    George Raveling 106 -105 ( 2 tourney app ) 7 years head coach
Charlie Parker 9-18 1 season head coach
    Henry Bibby 131- 111 ( 3 tourney app ) 8 years 4 games head coach
Rick Majerus 5 days head coach
    Tim Floyd 64 – 50 ( 3 tourney app ) 4 years head coach PROBATION
    Kevin O’Neill 40-40

  3. Period, WAKE UP!!! We KNOW our Basketball program SUCKS. I’m just happy 830am doesn’t work on my radio in Manhattan Beach.

Of course, Patty Boy is “fine” with KO. Bet Job Hopper will be put in charge of “watching” the basketball program……God, I wish Mike Garrett was back.

  4. now I know what it is like to be a fucla football fan..
Haden needs to find a new coach pronto.

  5. Time to back a dumpster truck loaded with money up to Calipari’s house. Y NOT?

  6. USC is still on probation, that’s Y NOT.

USC made a run for Dixon after Floyd left, but whatever the offer was, it wasn’t high enough, and USC was still waiting on the NCAA ruling.

Now USC has more money thanks to the new Pac-12 TV contract, and the basketball sanctions are over. And next year’s team will have more talent with Jio Fontan, Ari Stewart and JT Terrell.

Sounds like Haden wants to give KO at least one more year. But it seems like this year is the year to go after a great coach.

  7. Please make it stop! Fire Larry David now and put out $5 million/year for a top tier coach, he will come. The conference is ours for the taking. SC basketball is a Seinfeld episode where something always goes wrong.
