  1. I thought the limit for scholarships in one year was 25. How does UCLA have 28 commitments? Gray shirts?

  2. Mike,

The NCAA felt so sorry for UCLA after 50-0 and 6-8 that they waived the rule for them.

  3. @ USC Mike

Yes, Gray shirt is one option, and every year some players transfer, some retire for medical reasons and when a new coach takers over a program they may ask a player to transfer for one reason or, another.

  4. Wow, UCLA has more than double the number of recruits, and yet they are still behind USC in recruiting ranking? Are USC’s quality of players really that much better?

I also heard that Jim Mora’s in home visits are very awkward, and borderline disasterous. Way to hire a gem there Bruins. You guys better hope that there are a lot more big time recruits that have fathers who are close with UCLA (like Ellis McCarthy) because it seems like that’s the only way you have any hope of landing those blue chippers.

  5. Nabob, r u retarded or do you just like to pretend you are.? Per scout.com UCLA has the #10 ranked class and USC has the 28th ranked…while on rivals UCLA is 20th and USC is 19

  6. (in my best Jim Mora, Sr voice) “In home?! In home?! In, in, in home?! I just hope we win a game!”

  7. USC under Carroll and now Kiffin consistently had the highest quality, regardless of the number of recruits signed. They could always pull the best. A class of 15 this year will average close to 4 stars, probably higher than any other program.

  8. USC only has 12 signees but will have a few more 4 star recruits come in. And only a UCLA fan would search the Internet high and low to find 1 poll where UCLA ranks higher then USC… And 10th over all really? With 1 5 star and 1 4 star recruit signed? That site has to be ran by a UCLA alumnist. Hate to break it to you sir rivals.com is the mist trusted and featured recruiting website even over espns. And they have SC over UCLA. Accept it and hope UCLA can continue to build for years. It’s not going to be a 1 class turn around.

  9. Even if the NCAA scholarship limit is 25, they only have 20 available rides, so get ready for some funny math and curious departures from the baby blues.

  10. You guys are killing me…..seriously funny stuff…
“get ready for some funny math and curious departures from the baby blues”…Have you been a sleep for the last couple of months and aren’t REMOTELY AWARE of all the Torgans leaving town? Funny Math, early departures, free cars, subsidized house payments, N-word PLEASE!
Before you start….Take a look inside what goes on at The Best little Whorehouse on Figueroa.
    Yes, your Baby is UGLY.
    Fite on though limbo U!

  11. Lance, how do you know how many rides UCLA has? We’ll do the same clearing of spots as SC. Look for UCLA to take 25 plus (counting EEs).

And Blue, it’s funny you’d mention the “one ranking showing UCLA higher than SC…” Isn’t that exactly what SC does with academic rankings? Look, Look, we’re one spot higher in US News! Show me another!

  12. @Thai @sped
you guys both spend a lot of time on a USC blog
    shows who’s who…
    FIGHT ON!!

  13. spudjones, Jon Gold says you have twenty scholarships available to give out. He’s the guy who has a UCLA blog with the Daily News…on another channel.
