FoX Sports Media Group and Home Team Sports have named Dan Shell, vice president and general manager of USC Sports Properties, a newly created entity that will manage the marketing and media rights for USC athletics.
The real news is that “USC Sports Properties” is a new marketing/media arm of the athletic dept. being outsourced to Home Team Sports and Fox Sports Media Group. Shell’s got an interesting background: He was an assistant basketball coach at St. Mary’s from 2001-2008.
